:bulletpink::bulletgreen:ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY:bulletgreen::bulletpink:

KWC: Why and how did you become a cosplay photographer? Did you have any help?
josephlowphotography I was brought to a cosplay convention in the year 2010 by two photographer friends and since after that I started interested in cosplay photography and bought myself a dSLR using my money I earned from my part time (OTL). I had a lot of help from other cosplay photographer friends and they their work inspired me to work harder and improve myself in it.

KWC: What does photography mean to you?
josephlowphotography Photography is where I can express myself and capture the important moment in life and memories. Photography is why I work hard and have a goal in my life and also hope to travel around the world to capture different country culture and streets. Most importantly I do hope to see people smile with happiness and joy from my photos.

KWC: Why and how did you become a cosplay photographer? Did you have any help?archiekwa
I have been a fan of anime and photography since young and I am always amaze everytime I see a cosplayer.
But it is not until one of my friend ask me for help to shoot for their cosplay that I realize Cosplay Photography can be very interesting.

KWC: What does photography mean to you?

Photography is a hobby that I really enjoy. It makes me happy and it give me the adrenaline whenever I am trying to shoot a challenging concept.

photo 13.jpg

KWC: Which camera do you use?
archiekwa
Currently my main weapon of choice will be my Nikon D800.

photo 11.jpg

KWC: Do you prefer manual ou auto focusing?
archiekwa
Of course I prefer Auto Focusing. However I do use Manual Focus is the situation does not allow for auto focusing.

photo 15.jpg

KWC: Which lenses do you use?
archiekwa
I have a few lenses in my weaponry. However my favourite 3 will be my Nikon 16-35 f/4 ; Nikon AF-D 50mm f/1.4 ; Nikon AF-D 105mm f/2 DC.

KWC: How do you pick the place to shoot? And the photo angles?
archiekwa
Basically I will try to pick a location that resembles the scene that I am doing from the anime.
As for the angle, it really depends on the subjects/cosplayer. If I am doing a very signature scene from an anime I will try to follow closely even the photo angle. If not I it will depend on the cosplayer.

photo 14.jpg

KWC: What have you learned as a photographer?
archiekwa
I used to be very shy to speak up, but ever since I become a photographer, learned to speak up more. I can also communicate better with other people.

greengreencatHello everyone! 😊 My nick is greencat, I'm 23 and from Austria! Cosplay photography is really my passion!

photo 19.jpg

KWC: Do you have any other hobbies besides cosplay photography?
greengreencat Yeah sure! Animals are really important to me and I think many animals are treated really bad. Therefore I'm an animal rights acitivst and do a lot of stuff in this area. Beside that I enjoy to spend time with good friends and if I have time, some sports is also nice!

photo 21.jpg

KWC: What is your favorite game/manga/anime/comic/movie?
greengreencat Ragnarok Online/Bleach/Death Note/now it's getting a bit more complicate ... There are a lot of good comics and movies ^^

photo 25.jpg

KWC: Which are your favourite characters?
greengreencat There are so many great characters. I can't rally decide for a favourite one.

KWC: Do you have a favourite photographer or a role model? :devgreengreencat:
Role models are always a bit difficult. I think every person is individual and if you have a strict role model you cant develop yourself. Not my favourite photographer, but the funniest one is Kai from DigitalRev. If you have time, you have to watch the videos form him. (www.youtube.com/user/DigitalRe…)

:bulletpink::bulletgreen:ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY:bulletgreen::bulletpink:

KWC: Why and how did you become a cosplay photographer? Did you have any help?greengreencat
I watched animes since I'm young. Then I went to my first convention (in Australia btw), which was more of a coincidence. It was really fascinated to see all the amazing cosplays and so one step led to another. I got help and support from a lot of people. Thank you all! 😊

photo 22.jpg

KWC: What does photography mean to you?
greengreencat
Photography for me is to capture a special moment for eternity. Every photo tells it's own story and is unique! So for me it's an awesome form of art!

photo 24.jpg

KWC: Which camera do you use?
greengreencat
Currently a Canon 5dmkII
But I think what camera you use it not that important.

photo 20.jpg

KWC: Do you prefer manual ou auto focusing?
greengreencat
To be honest, I'm a bit lazy and use most of the time auto focus.

KWC: Which lenses do you use?
greengreencat
I'm really fond of prime lenses. I can really recommand that, if you have an DSLR. My favourite one is the 85mm.

photo 26.jpg

KWC: How do you pick the place to shoot? And the photo angles?
greengreencat
That's different. Sometimes the cosplayer have really good ideas or we look together for a place. Photo angles are also a really important thing. If you take a picture from above, the cosplayer looks smaller and from the bottom the opposite and so on.

KWC: What have you learned as a photographer?
greengreencat
Really a lot and I'm still learning! 😊 I think the composistion is one of the most important things!
